Vampires have taken over the known world! Okay, maybe not the known world, but they've taken over television in a new way, with the advent of HBO's True Blood and The CW's The Vampire Diaries. Bet CBS feels pretty stupid about canceling Moonlight, huh? They could have been the forerunners of the new vampire movement instead of the wannabes. In 1996 Buffy the Vampire Slayer set The WB airwaves on fire, and vampires having been burning up the big and small screens ever since.
For decades vampires have intrigued fans with their ruthlessness, their sensuality, their seamless drifting through time. Some of the most recent vampire shows that have turned fans heads are the 1960's television serial Dark Shadows, which was remade in the early 1990's starring Ben Cross, Kindred: The Embraced, Forever Knight, Blood Ties, Blade: The Series, Moonlight, True Blood, The Vampire Diaries and of course, Angel. With the phenomenon that is Twilight looming on the big screen with another movie release, Whedonage wants to highlight the most menacing vampire on television.
So on to our list of the Most Menacing Vampires in recent television history!

by Simon on March 04, 2010, 10:36:00 AM Former Dollmaster Fran Kranz ("Topher") has signed onto a new NBC single-camera comedy pilot Friends with Benefits, as part of group of five friends looking for love, but willing to settle for, well, the title kind of gives that away.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kranz will portray a hopelessly romantic multi-millionaire nerd who sold some code to Google. I'm guessing that makes him the Ross/Ted of this take on How-Friends-Met-Your-Mother.

by MaidenGreen on February 28, 2010, 07:39:00 AM Dollhouse has been off the air for over a month, and Whedon fans have been teased with Joss having lunch with FX Networks President John Landgraf. Now Eliza Dushku dishes a little news herself. According to Sci Fi Wire, Joss Whedon and the actress will be teaming up again, not on the small screen, but in a big screen venture.
While very tight-lipped on the details, Dushku did say, "I would say that we would [be working on something new very soon]!" she said. "I think we're going to work on a kick-ass feature together that we've been thinking about for a few years." She also gave some hints as to what else she might be working on in the future.

by MaidenGreen on February 26, 2010, 09:20:00 PM.jpg) They tried to keep it quiet, tried to keep the news under wraps, but it was not to be! According to a not-so-discreet friend, Seth Green and girlfriend actress Clare Grant got engaged on New Year's Eve and plan to be married in May. One by one the members of the Scoobie gang are biting the dust, matrimony-wise. So who is Clare Grant?
Grant is rather new to the acting world, her first role being a bit part as a museum curator in the 2004 short film Resolutions of the Complacent Man. She didn't get a "name" part until 2007's House of Fur, when she starred as Holly. Then in 2008 she voiced Aqualad in Robot Chicken's "They Took My Thumbs." And as most every Whedonverse fan knows, Seth Green is the creator of and producer and writer for Robot Chicken.

by MaidenGreen on February 25, 2010, 03:55:00 PM We haven't focused all that much on one of Angel's most methodical and fastidious bad guys, Daniel Dae Kim. As Wolfram & Hart laywer Gavin Park, Kim appeared in 12 episodes of Angel. First seen attempting to take over the lease for the Hyperion Hotel in order to oust Angel and his team of do-gooders from the premises in S2's "Over the Rainbow," he continued to be a thorn in Angel's side as well as a rival for Stephanie Romanov's Lilah Morgan through 2 seasons until he met his untimely and grisly demise in S4's "Habeas Corpses."

by MaidenGreen on February 24, 2010, 03:41:00 PM Amber Benson has been busy lately, and this renaissance woman hasn't confined her efforts to acting: author, director, producer all are added to the roster for this talented thespian. And an February 23rd, her newest literary outing, Cat's Paw was released in paperback. Cat's Paw is the follow-up novel to her successful Calliope Reaper-Jones book, Death's Daughter. Calliope Jones just wanted a normal life, one that included buying designer shoes on sale, dating guys from Craig's List, and web-surfing for organic dim-sum for her boss. But her life changes forever when her father, the Grim Reaper, goes missing. Yup, nothing is the same when you find out your father is Mr. Big-Daddy Death himself.

by MaidenGreen on February 13, 2010, 11:55:00 PM "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered" was one of the creepiest episodes on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the one that heightened the tension between Angelus, Drusilla, and Spike, and deepened Buffy's pain ten-fold. While Spike was Drusilla's chosen companion, it couldn't have been more clear that her psychotic connection to Angelus was something Spike couldn't overcome. This perverse trio is just one of the most hypnotic love "connections" perfected by Joss Whedon in his ground-breaking shows.
However, since Valentines Day is about love, let us not dwell too long on the twisted as we take a walk down memory lane and check out a few of the most epic romances in the Whedonverse!

by MaidenGreen on February 11, 2010, 06:58:00 PM Buffy the Vampire Slayer debuted in March 1997, Angel in October 2000. Angel went off the air in May 2004, and Bones debuted in September 2005. That means David Boreanaz has been a fixture on our small screens for over a decade. Wow, I can't believe its been that long! Since then, he has worn the hat of actor, producer, and director for the season five Angel episode, "Soul Purpose." Now David steps behind the camera again for the 100th episode of Fox's hit drama.
