Hang on, Heroes fans!  The second part of the season - what you'll get of it considering the strike - is going to be more cohesive than the first!
Tim Kring Owns Up To 'Heroes' Mistakes

Not very thrilled with how "Heroes" is going so far in its second season? Well, apparently series creator Tim Kring isn't as well, and he's taking the time to tell fans that he's sorry.

Kring recently shared those comments with Entertainment Weekly taking the blame for a 15 percent ratings drop from last year, and complaints from critics and fans alike about how the show has progressed so far in its "Generations" chapter. And he wants to make it up by promising to correct it by the time "Heroes" comes back with some new episodes in coming weeks including more focus on the main stars, returning cliffhangers at the end of episodes, and re-energizing the story.

"We assumed the audience wanted Season 1 -- a buildup of intrigue about these characters and the discovery of their powers," Kring said about the new additions to the cast. "We taught [them] to expect a certain kind of storytelling. They wanted adrenaline. We made a mistake."

In the second season, Kring admitted that they took far too long to get to the overall story. Peter Petrelli has a vision of a viral Armageddon by the seventh episode, where the nuclear explosion in the first season was featured in the very first episode.

There also were a lot of mistakes about sending Hiro to Japan for so long, and giving him a love interest.

"We didn't give the audience enough story to justify the time we allotted it," Kring said. "I've seen more convincing romances on TV. In retrospect, I don't think romance is a natural fit for us."

With the season likely ending with the finale of the "Generations" chapter on Dec. 3, Kring said when the show returns to production following the writers strike, he intends to reboot the series and hopefully win back many of the viewers who decided to find something else to do on Monday nights.

"The message is that we've heard the complaints -- and we're doing something about it."

i think he's too hard on himself-I think people weren't going to like Season 2 no matter what he did-but I certainly hope that he succeeds and Heroes stays around for a long time....

Best wishes,

I think he made a mistake modeling the first of this year after the first of last year, when he was introducing all the characters.  Sure, that was fine for the opening season, but after people become attached to the characters throughout the season, and considering the explosive finale, people were going to want to see the people they've come to know and love - not a swarm of new people cluttering up the season.  It was just a bad move, but not an irredeemable one!

Heroes was one of my favorite shows, but this season is wearing me out. It is almost a chore to watch it. I keep hoping that this week will be the week and I am disappointed again and again. The new additions to the cast are pointless and downright annoying in some cases.

Prime example, the sister and brother pair from south of the border. How many freaking times do we have to sit through their crying and POINTLESS subtitles before Sylar kills them? We get it, they speak Spanish. Now drop the characters with the subtitles already!

Kristin Bell's extreme hotness is not enough to compensate for her annoyingly sadistic character either. Get to the point already or cut her loose. She can be better utilized down in the Pacific saving the humpbacks from the nefarious Japanese whalers. They plan to kill some 60 or so whales don't ya know?

I guess it can be chalked up to a sophomore slump, but Heroes time is drawing to a close for this viewer.

And don't get me started about Hiro's little time travel adventure. That crap has been beaten into the ground already.

Oh, and you would think these people could find a more believable location to shoot the Japan scenes  than Southern California. Come on! You're not even trying!

I don't have a problem with a large cast, but they have to be entertaining and not annoying.

To each their own-I can't say I've found any of them to be annoying....

You don't think the brother-sister pair are annoying? It's like watching a Mexican soap opera when those two are on. You must have a higher tolerance for inanity than I do.

I must admit that last night was a little better though. The end was superb.
